Which Dj Equipment Should You Choose?

Being a dynamite DJ requires more than just having an ear for what is a cool sound or not or knowing the latest in the music scene. It also requires a deep understanding of all the equipment that that will produce the beat or “thumpa thumpa” that will bring the crowd in a state of ecstasy. A skillful usage of equipments produces a great mix that will bring out the “party animal” in every person and will certainly rock the house down. Some of the must have tools and equipments are as follow:

Headset - The first equipment to invest on is a great set of headset. Choose one that has a closed ear design that will keep your focus on track cues and clears you from being distracted with surrounding noise.

Turntable - Another must have equipment for DJs. It is the best equipment to practice on if you are a just starting to learn the art of DJing. One preferred brand is the Technics 1200/1210.
DJ Needles and Cartridges - Used for playing vinyl and scratching

DJ Mixer - Allows smooth transition from different sources, sound equalization and creation of sound effects.

Computer - Either a laptop or desktop with the specifications that suit most DJ softwares.
DJ CD/MP3 Player - Chose one with direct folder search feature that allows easy access and toggling of music files and one that can be placed to CDJ and Vinyl mode.

Speaker and Amplifier Set - Choose a decent set that will produce great sound output. A basic set would include speakers, a sound monitor and an amplifier. Having a wireless microphone is a big plus.

Ear filter - Loudness in concerts or music jams can reach up to 125 decibels or even more which can be very damaging to the ears. With ear filters, noise is being reduced down to the right amount; just enough for the DJ to hear what he is playing.

DJ Effects Console - Used to create sound effects, i.e. retro sounds, intros, out-tros, whistles, bells, guns and other effects not available or built-in in the mixer. Other effects console also includes control over lights.
